U-Kiss "First Kiss Tour in Manila" DVD: keeping U-Kiss memories alive!

Are you reminiscing about U-Kiss’ first ever concert here in the Philippines? Well, don’t fret because Universal Records is here to satisfy your longings.

U-Kiss, which stands for Ubiquitous Korean International Super Star, is an idol group handled by NH Media consisting of 7 male members. The group members are Kevin, Eli, Kiseop, Soohyun, Dongho, Alexander and Kibum. However, under certain circumstances, the latter two have been recently replaced by two new members, namely AJ and Hoon.

The group has garnered much attention ever since their debut in Japan and Korea in the year 2008 with their title song “Not Young”, taken from their first mini-album “N-Generation”. This explosive debut made them win the Rookie Award in the 5th Asia Song Festival. This success followed with an extremely long list of activities and schedules.

In the year 2009, they have released two new mini-albums entitled “Bring It Back 2 Old School” and “ContiUkiss”. Aside from their hectic album promotions, they have also received a lot of offers from different TV programs wherein they happily took part in. The variety shows where they appeared on include ‘Ulzzang Generation 2’, ‘The Invincible Baseball Team’, ‘Idol Maknae Rebellion’ and a lot more others. Aside from that, the individual talents of the U-Kiss members were also being recognized. Alexander and Kevin co-hosted alongside DJ Isak in Arirang’s ‘Pops In Seoul’, wherein Eli also joined in later. They were chosen because of their bubbly personalities and ability to speak in fluent English. Kibum and Eli were also chosen to star in a Thai drama entitled ‘Autumn’s Destiny’.

After releasing their first full length album in 2010, the group has been receiving love calls overseas. This led to a fan meeting in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, a concert in Singapore, another concert in Mongolia, special activities in Japan and various events in the Philippines.

U-Kiss was brought to the Philippines by Premiere Entertainment Philippines Inc. for a three-day (March 26 to 28, 2010) mall tour promoting their new album. The love received from the fans during the series of mall shows was extremely unexpected and since the duration of the tour was short, the KissMes were left wanting for more. This resulted in U-Kiss’s comeback to the Philippines with their very first solo concert entitled 'First Kiss Tour In Manila' on June 14, 2010 at Araneta Coliseum.

With a total of 24 stage numbers, U-Kiss was able to rock the Big Dome last June 14, 2010. There were a lot of highlights in the show to the point where not one who went to the concert was left disappointed.

Charismatic stages of their hit songs, such as “Man Man Ha Ni”, “Bingeul Bingeul”, “Without You”, “Talk To Me”, “Not Young” and more were performed. Not only those but there were some cute stages, such as their “Stupid Cupid” act wherein they wore animal mascots while roaming around the stage, and there were some heartwarming stages, such as the group’s rendition of the famous song “End Of The Road” popularized by Boyz II Men.

Each member was also able to showcase their respective individual talents. Dongho impressed the audience with his English rap part in Ne-Yo’s “Because of You”. Kevin made the audience jealous with his Chris Brown’s “Say Goodbye” performance along with a sexy back-up dancer. Eli accompanied Alexander in singing a famous Black Eyed Peas Filipino song “Bebot”. Kibum and Kiseop got the fans at the edge of their seats in the Justin Timberlake’s “Sexy Back” performance wherein they took off their clothes. Soohyun also did a solo dance break at the concert.

The talk part in the concert contained a lot of interaction between the group and the audience. And of course, a concert wouldn’t be complete without Korean idols’ trademark, the parodies. They parodied SNSD’s “Gee”, Wonder Girls’ “Nobody”, Brown Eyed Girls’ “Abracadabra”, Lee Hyori’s “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” and SNSD’s “Oh!”.

With all that you’ve read, the concert seemed too good to miss and for those who enjoyed the concert, it’s a given that they’re dying to bring back time just to see U-Kiss again.

We’ve got good news for you. Universal Records would be launching U-Kiss’s "First Kiss Tour In Manila" DVD on April 2, 2011 (Saturday) in three (3) participating record stores - Odyssey Megamall, Odyssey Mall of Asia and Astroplus The Block.
