2NE1 "To Anyone" CD zooms to the #1 spot in one of the country's biggest record retail chains, Astroplus/Astrovision's album charts (dated January 10 to 16, 2011). Not only that, 2NE1's "The First Mini-Album Repackage" (CD+DVD) occupies the #2 spot! That's two 2NE1 albums on the top two positions of their album charts. Astroplus/Astrovision has more than 80 record stores nationwide!
"To Anyone" is 2NE1's first #1 album in the Philippines and also Universal Records' 15th #1 K-Pop album!
After Universal Records‘ coordination with YG Entertainment, 2NE1's albums ("The First Mini-Album Repackage" and "To Anyone") have finally been released in the Philippines. On January 15, 2011, 2NE1′s Album Launch Event was held in four different big malls in the country -Astroplus The Block, Mall of Asia and Odyssey Megamall, Odyssey Bacoor.
Estimated more than one thousand Blackjacks trooped to the four participating record stores. Some Blackjacks lined up early in the morning, waiting for the mall to open. Everybody’s excited to have a grab of 2NE1 albums and get those amazing freebies!
Some Blackjacks who came dressed as their favorite 2NE1 member showed off their modelling skills through a small fashion show. Four best-dressed fans from Astroplus The Block and MOA were chosen as winners of Beats by Dr. Dre headphones! Lucky Blackjacks indeed. Odyssey Megamall and Bacoor were raffling off Super Junior 'Super Show 3" Concert tickets and autographed 2NE1 Korean Version CDs! That's a lot of prizes for super duper lucky Blackjacks!
There’s the “Hot In Pink” contest wherein fans dressed up in pink can strike a pose. Their photos will be uploaded to 2NE1 Philippines’ Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/2ne1ph and 10 winners will receive the 2NE1 standees! 2NE1 dance cover groups also hyped up the event with their amazing performances! Their performances really wowed the crowd and Blackjacks patiently waited for their performances in all the four participating record stores!
Indeed, the 2NE1 album launch event was a success for having gained a high number of CD sales in just one day!
2NE1 is one of the kpop groups that have been close to the hearts of many Filipinos since member Sandara Park was a famous actress in the Philippines prior to her debut.
