GEMMA HAYES "The Hollow Of Morning"

Six years, two albums and the highs of critical accolades have all led Dublin, Ireland native Gemma Hayes to her third album, ''The Hollow of Morning". Hayes shows herself to have grown into an incredible songwriter and also a woman who has surveyed her career to date and decided to go her own way, independent in every sense. Co-produced by long-time cohort and collaborator David Odlum, who worked with Gemma on her Mercury-nominated debut, ''Night On My Side,'' ''The Hollow of Morning'' is a ten-track filigree of melody and subtle harmonic rhythms. It's a sparkling album awash with melody and poignant turns of phrase. An independent flare shot into the night sky that is both searching and illuminating. Guests include Kevin Shields (My Bloody Valentine) and Paul Noonan (Bell XI). Featuring the singles "Out Of Our Hands" and "Home".

CATS ON FIRE "The Province Complains"

"The Province Complains”, the debut album by Finnish quartet Cats On Fire, is here at last! This album is proof of their ability to write classic and intelligent guitar pop songs and remind us a lot of The Smiths, when they were young and exciting, with other main influences including Felt, The Wedding Present, Orange Juice, Belle And Sebastian and Pulp, as well as in '60s pop icons The Kinks. The album is a nonstop ruckus of jangly guitars from start to end. Includes "Higher Grounds".

LOVE DANCE "Result"

After the brilliant debut EP “You Should Know Where I´m Standing”, this gorgeous and jangly guitar pop band from Bergen, Norway released their debut CD entitled "Result". This debut album follows the path from the EP, the band’s sincere love for classic C86/indie/janglepop is worn with pride. It sounds so much like the old heroes from the beloved Sarah label like the Field Mice, Another Sunny Day, Brighter and Blueboy. From the addictively catchy jangly guitar melodies and handclaps to the glowing synths and even the occasional dabble in poppy shoegaze, it's just fantastic, period. Sleeve notes by Richard Preece (Lovejoy). For fans of Acid House Kings, McCarthy, Brighter, Felt, The Field Mice and Another Sunny Day.
