Kpoplive | YG Entertainment boss Yang Hyunsuk excited for Big Bang Seungri’s upcoming mini-album

In a public statement made earlier today, YG Entertainment’s founder Yang Hyunsuk expressed his excitement for Big Bang’s Seungri’s upcoming solo activities, describing the maknae as a “hidden talent.”

Though Seungri was originally planning on releasing a digital single on January 3, the plans were scrapped for a mini-album that would be released later. This was due to the fact that the boys had been planning on promoting in Japan, which would result in shortened promotions for both Seungri and GDragon’s upcoming albums.

“Fortunately, the tour [in Japan] was able to be moved back a month,” stated Yang Hyunsuk.

The CEO went on explaining that “he has carefully watched the mini-album preparation process and thought that Seungri was like a ‘soldier in ambush’ since he had for the first time participated in the composition and lyrics-making of all the songs with the help of newly recruited producers…Some of the finished songs sounded better than [Yang] had expected [as a result.]”

Seungri will be releasing his first mini-album on January 13.
