SPONGE COLA RELEASES BRAND NEW SINGLE "WALA KANG KATULAD"

One of the country's hottest bands Sponge Cola releases a brand new single and music video "Wala Kang Katulad", taken from the Repack Edition of their bestselling eponymous third album. The song is currently enjoying heavy radio airplay on FM stations nationwide and has also entered the MYX Daily Top Ten.

Aside from the current single "Wala Kang Katulad", The Repack Edition also includes hits like "Puso" (Official theme of the 71st season of the UAAP & also the official theme song of ABS-CBN's newest program "Agimat: Ang Mga Alamat ni Ramon Revilla") and "Di Na Mababawi" plus a Bonus CD containing 4 new tracks -- the massive single "Ayt!", a collaboration with Mr. Pure Energy Gary Valenciano, "Closer You And I", their rendition of the classic Close Up toothpaste jingle originally sung by Gino Padilla, "Puso (Bonfire Version)" and "Di Na Mababawi (Band Version)".

Sponge Cola became the first local band to release its new album in music player form. All songs, including those in the past albums are included in the music players which come in both MP3 and MP4 format.

The band made up of Yael Yuzon (vocals-guitar), Gosh Dilay (bass), Erwin Armovit (lead guitar) and then-drummer Chris Cantada released their debut album "Palabas" in 2004 , spawning radio hits like "KLSP," "Gemini," and "Jeepney." Their acoustic live cover of the Madonna classic "Crazy For You" gained popularity among fans and casual listeners after it became an Internet download favorite. Their Platinum-certified second CD "Transit", produced smash singles like the anthemic "Bitiw," "Tuliro," "Movie" and "Pasubali." Sponge Cola were also part of the most successful tribute records to come out recently: The Eraserheads' "Ultraelectromagneticjam" and the Apo Hiking Society's "Kami nAPO Muna" and "Kami nAPO Muna Ulit". Drummer Chris Cantada left in 2008 and after more than a year, Ted Mark “Tmac” Cruz of the Out of Body Special and Happy Meals officially became the band’s new drummer.
