THE DRUMS "SUMMERTIME" EP Out Now!

Florida's The Drums feature former new wave act Elkland singer Jonathan Pierce and Jacob Graham of dream pop band Horse Shoes. New York's tastemakers are raving about this band and hailing them as the "next big thing". The band lists some of their influences as being The Wake, The Smiths and Joy Division and pulls together years of obvious influence by the Factory records sound and a sudden fascination with 50's surf culture.

Containing six tracks of sweet innocent pop songs, the "Summertime!" EP is a massively likable, not to mention danceable, blend of gloomy '80s pop, '90s indie-pop and '50s surf-rock that will appeal, quite predictably to fans of The Magnetic Fields, The Smiths, Belle and Sebastian and Joy Division.
