K-Pop sensations Girls' Generation, SHINee and Super Junior dominate the latest International Album Chart of the country's biggest record retail chain, Odyssey Records. The latest album chart is based on the sales tabulation garnered from more than 50 Odyssey stores nationwide covering the period October 1 to 15, 2009.
Girls' Generation leads the pack with their #1 album "Tell Me Your Wish-Genie". This mini-album by the Korean all-girl group holds the distinction of being the FIRST female K-pop act's album to reach NUMBER ONE in Philippine Album Chart and has outsold albums by superstar acts like Mariah Carey and Madonna! SHINee's "Romeo" is at #3 while Superstar boy band Super Junior's "Sorry Sorry" is at #4!
Super Junior's album also occupied the Number One spot last September and became the first K-Pop album to reach the #1 position in the Philippines! Universal Records distributes all these bestselling K-Pop albums in the country.
