SHINee’s Taemin reveals his ideal type
SHINee Taemin revealed his ideal girl on today's episode of Star Golden Bell.
All members of SHINee came on to talk about their new album as well as other secrets they've been hiding under their blankets.
It was surprising to see the youngest of the five reveal his ideal type but also nice to see Taemin confess like a real man.
The chosen girl was not a fellow idol, a Korean top actress or someone Korean at all!
It was none other Harry's Hermione, Emma Watson.
The MC's told 16-year-old maknae Taemin to send a video message to Emma Watson. Taemin said, "I'm always watching Harry Potter. I really like you. I love you."
I'm sure the fan girls were jealous of the worldwide known actress.
On the same episode, member Key revealed Taemin is really gullible. Key said, "Once we went to a cafe and there was a vibrating sound that came on when your order was ready. He asked me what it was so I lied to him by saying that if you didn't pick up your order fast enough the vibrating sound would explode. And he believed me.
Onew also confessed that he was kissed by comedian Jung Ju Ri. While doing a comedy skit, Jung Ju Ri kissed Onew unexpectedly.
I don't know who to be jealous of, Jung Ju Ri or Emma Watson...

Girls' Generation Philippines | Keeping the 9 flames alive
GGPH or Girls Generation Philippines was originally built for one major purpose – So Nyuh Shi Dae. Formerly established being a homebase for fans from around the country who like to gather and talk about SNSD.
It all began early last year. February 2008 was a leap forward to all SNSD fans from around the world; and to the becoming of GGPH as well. This date marked the event for the birth of the international fanbase for Soshi, Soshified. Fans had their daily serving of SNSD news and it paved the way for Filipino fans to get to know each other.
July 2008. Arirang’s Pops in Seoul’s 10th anniversary which aired in the Philippines. Seeing fanclubs having that many active participating members, we SNSD fans realized, it was the time to make our own fanclub for the dedicated SNSD fans around the country, naming it, Girls Generation Philippines (GGPH). GGPH was blessed and soon it became the pioneering fanclub of SNSD in the Philippines.
A year has passed and GGPH is still going head strong. With a number of active members, we recently held a couple of gatherings wherein we get to know each other a lot more. Also, we were able to celebrate special occasions by holding karaoke parties. Among these events were GGPH’s first Christmas and our first anniversary.
Currently, a lot has evolved for GGPH because of focusing on that one single goal – all for SNSD. The fanclub has reached many heights and has done so many things to the public for the recognition of SNSD here and worldwide. GGPH has grown so much within the past year. Now; not only that it became the fanbase for SNSD fans in the Philippines; but it has become a home, that most of us Filipino S♥nes spend our time becoming a loving community, a family.

MBC to make TVXQ documentary and turns to Cassiopeia?
That's what it looks like! Yoon Hae Jeong, a screenwriter of MBC recently announced that popular program Star Documentary will be making an episode for the ever-so-popular TVXQ / DBSK. Though the fivesome has undoubtedly shot up to top-tier fame internationally, this thirty-minute documentary will reportedly reveal the hidden stories behind the idol image of these so-called 'Rising Gods of the East'.
Of course, one cannot consider TVXQ without its enormous fanbase. Fun fact: Cassiopeia is singlehandedly the largest artist fanclub in the world; the Guiness Book of World Records reported 800,000 official members in 2008, and that's not even including the unofficial fans both in Korea and worldwide. And that's why MBC will be taking interviews from not only childhood friends and people close to TVXQ, but also getting in contact with fans in Korea in order to make this documentary "through the views and voices of Cassiopeia". As the screenwriter expressed, "We hope to tell the touching yet almost unknown story of how DBSK became Asia's top artist. We would like to include their stunning musicality that has been ignored due to their 'idol' status, their overseas activities, and each member's efforts, passion, sweat and tears to achieve his dream of becoming a singer."
MBC will be asking fans about which TVXQ stories to include in the story in order to faithfully express the warmth and love of Cassiopeians.
"Although it may be a stretch to create such a documentary about DBSK, especially in such a sensitive situation, but we believe that what everyone needs right now is a documentary like this," the screenwriter added in light of the recent controversies between TVXQ and SM Entertainment. "[W]e believe that a documentary that is filled with the love of the fans will be a great strength to the members to help them endure this situation."
So with that, the broadcast will reportedly be taking place later this week on the 23rd with interviews from the members themselves, teachers, close ones, trainees, composers, and of course, the ever-adoring Cassiopeia. Fans will most undoubtedly look forward to the never-before-seen pre-debut and overseas footage from their past years of fame.
It's incredible to see how important fans have become for idols these days. Gone are the days of fangirls sticking at home and merely spazzing over songs with their friends - from supportive (like the fan movement Hottests have taken for Jaebeom) to negative (SNSD Black Ocean, Super Junior Only 13 Movement), fans are proving to be an unprecedentedly powerful voice in the entertainment industry.

Even more interesting, to let everyone understand how the Super Girl in SJ-M’s hearts are, seven barbie dolls & seven sets of clothes were prepared by the director, letting the members dress up the dolls to become their Super Girl. During the game, there were lots of hilarious moments, everyone conferred with each other, Ryeowook exposed that Donghae wants to find a Chinese girl, Hangeng joked saying that Zhoumi likes girls that buy him branded goods.
The 16th was also Donghae’s birthday**, & the fans meticulously prepared a cake for him, and started to sing him Happy Birthday. Donghae expressed, he’ll definitely work hard, to bring everyone even better music.
* the article used the word ‘延长’ which means to prolong. but it didn’t make sense to me, so i just replaced it with promote. if anyone knows why or how ‘prolong’ would fit in the article, please tell me~ ^^
** they obviously got the actual date wrong.

Girls’ Generation breaks record as 1st Kpop female group to hit no.1 in the Philippines
Are you tired of hearing more about Girls’ Generation, dominating the world? Heck no! Unless you’re an alien and are looking to take over our planet. Hey sorry Aliens, we may like girls with big eyes, but not ones the size of dinner plates. As you may or not know, Kpop is dominant in most Asian countries, even over their own domestic music.
The Philippines CD albums show that Girls Generation (So Nyeo Shi Dae) are the No.1 female Korean artist there. They are the first to reach No.1 as female Kpop artists. They weren’t the very first overall, as that title belongs to Super Junior (boy band). That means as usual, SM is just killing the sales in every way possible.

Manila Bulletin online | Christian Bautista, the next Double Diamond Artist of the Philippines?
by: Walden Sadiri
October 17, 2009 | 1:24pm
The concept of jumpstarting a car is simple – use a stronger battery to power up the weak battery!
The same concept holds true too in the case of Christian Bautista when wanted to jumpstart his current recording career. He connected his with the hit songs of the Philippines’ Double Diamond Artist, an icon and powerful figure in the recording industry – Jose Mari Chan. And the connection is via his first album under Universal Records entitled “Romance Revisited: The Love Songs of Jose Mari Chan.”
The question now is whether it would be a successful jumpstart as all eyes, especially Jose Mari Chan fans, will be on him to see if he would meet or even surpass the latter’s achievements. During Jose Mari Chan’s time, Platinum and Diamond album status meant millions of copies sold unlike today in the Philippine setting wherein the number of albums sold were lowered for the different statuses – Gold, Platinum, and even Diamond!
Christian, during his album launch at the Linden Suites recently, expressed that he was actually nervous about recording the songs of Jose Mari Chan. He knew he would be compared to the Double Diamond Artist but said he just couldn’t resist a “diamond” opportunity.
“When my contract with Warner Music expired, I was looking for something different that would jumpstart my career again. And we were looking for ideas from recording companies if they would have a good project for us. So we met up with a lot of recording companies. And when this was presented to us, a chance to record the love songs of Jose Mari Chan, I couldn’t let it pass,” he intimated.
He added that he was a fan of Jose Mari Chan and that he has dreamed of also singing his songs someday. He actually had a first hand experience of how popular Jose Mari was in one of his radio tours in Indonesia. He was asked by a DJ if he knew Jose Mari Chan since he’s also a Filipino. And he was asked to sing “Beautiful Girl” which was also a hit in Indonesia.
“I have to do this project because this is once in a lifetime opportunity... so I guess fate connected us together. I am happy with this decision. I’m very, very happy with my new Universal Records family. We’ve invested blood, sweat and tears so to speak for this album and it was all worth it,” he declared.
His album contains 19 Jose Mari Chan hit songs like “Tell Me Your Name,” “I Remember The Girl,” “I Have Fallen In Love (With The Same Woman Three Times),” “Beautiful Girl,” “Can’t We Start All Over Again,” “Be Gentle,” “Stay My Love,” “Afterglow,” “A Love To Last A Lifetime,” “Constant Change,” “Deep In My Heart,” “Refrain,” “Can We Just Stop And Talk A While” and “So I’ll Go.” The other four cuts in his album are duets – “Please Be Careful With My Heart” with Sarah Geronimo, “My Girl, My Woman, My Friend” with Regine Velasquez, “Here And Now” with Lani Misalucha and “A Heart’s Journey” with Jose Mari Chan himself.
As for Christian’s rendition of such timeless classics, he shared that he injected his own style of singing.
“I relied on my own instincts but we decided that we also wanted to retain most of his wonderful melodies because that is what makes the songs beautiful. Jose Mari Chan is a wonderful musician as well and we paid respect to his melodies,” he said.
So what’s his favorite Jose Mari Chan song?
“My favorite song in the album is ‘Beautiful Girl.’ It has been in my head for a long time and it became my dream that hopefully I could record this and do my own version. And it came true,” he replied.
He said that it was also the last song they recorded because they’ve put much planning into how to sing it well.
“The question is how to make it even into a more beautiful song than it is already. I was nervous about this because I know people will compare us… we had an idea to pattern it into a more acoustic feel and young-sounding. Everything just combined into this beautiful arrangement and I’m very happy,” he related.
As to who is Christian’s beautiful girl in his eyes and heart, the answer is none at the moment.
“I’m very single and available…romantically speaking. I’m ready for it but not desperately seeking for it…my love is with God, my family and friends. If that woman comes anytime and she’s the one for me then I’ll get her,” he smiled.
Aside from the Philippines, Christian’s album will be released in Asia starting in Indonesia via its biggest record label PT Aquarius Records, the same company that released Jose mari Chan’s “Constant Change.” For his Indonesian release, he recorded a duet entitled “Ngiti” (translated in Bahasa) with Indonesian female recording star Noryn Aziz.
Also part of his album’s promotion is having a mini-CD included in a Black Water package, the company he endorses that specializes in colognes. He is also Baguio bound on November 20 to promote his album.
“I really feel the pressure. So before I get satisfied with a song, I listen to it all over again because I want it to be perfect. So hopefully the listeners will feel the effort and love I gave in recording each of the song… I pray that the one million who bought Jose Mari Chan’s albums before will also buy mine,” smiled Christian.

by: Rose Garcia | October 17, 2009

Female Network.com | Hopeless Romantic: Christian Bautista releases Jose Mari Chan cover album
by: Stephanie Castillo
October 12, 2009
Hailed as Asia’s Romantic Balladeer, 27-year-old Christian Bautista has succeeded in carving a niche for himself not only in the Philippine music scene but also in the hearts of his adoring fans. A studio and stage veteran early in his career, the singer-actor has decided to take the torch from another musical legend by releasing “Romance Revisited: The Love Songs of Jose Mari Chan,” a cover album of the latter’s work. The first single off the record, “Tell Me Your Name,” has already hit No. 1 on local air waves, as its highly anticipated music video featuring Thai beauty Paula Taylor made its television debut on MYX.
“When we discovered [Christian] 5 years ago, he was this tall, lanky guy with nothing but his dreams,” shares Audie Gemora, the country’s “King of Musical Theater” and mentor to Bautista. Describing his protégé at present as debonair and sophisticated, Gemora’s faith in Bautista’s talent as a moving performer is evident. “I think Christian is the perfect guy to sing these songs, because he has a ‘swoon factor,’” says Gemora...
