GIRLS' GENERATION (SNSD) "The 2nd Mini Album - Tell Me Your Wish" Album Review

From popular trends of “Gee”, So Nyuh Shi Dae has been successful in creating new styles in clothing and dance. The girls have come back to a bigger statement with the second mini album. This album is different from the rest with their emphasis on the military theme that will become influential to Korea.

With a definitely mature style, So Nyuh Shi Dae has stepped back from their regular “cuteness” to bring a side that no one has seen before. Leading off the mini-album, “Genie” is an upbeat, encouraging song that is rather mature and tells the audience that the girls will surely grant their wishes; each girl sounds more feminine than they have before which makes the song feel more powerful with their message. However, they did not leave their cuteness behind altogether; “ETUDE” is a song where one can definitely remember the “Kissing You” days. The song is cheerful and there is just no escaping lip-syncing and making cute faces. Not looking for fast-paced, bubbly songs? Well, “1 Year Later” is definitely the opposite. A solo by Jessica, accompanied with SHINee’s Onew, this song can surely be a tear-jerker. As the two voices are blended together so well, it’s clear that there is a connection between the two powerful singers.

Creating new trends is not easy; however, when it comes to So Nyuh Shi Dae it’s possible that it could just come natural. Even though they’ve brought a different style for this mini-album, that does not hold them back from achieving success. This album is recommended to all those that need some encouragement in their lives.
