PEP.ph | Ogie Alcasid wants to strengthen music industry

Desidido si Ogie Alcasid na muling pasiglahin ang musikang Pilipino dito sa ating bansa. Gusto niyang simulan ito sa pamamagitan ng pagpapalakas sa Organisasyon ng Pilipinong Mang-aawit (OPM), isang samahan ng mga local singers at performers.

Nakausap ng PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) at iba pang press si Ogie tungkol sa naturang isyu sa candidacy presscon ni Akbayan Representative Risa Hontiveros na tumatakbong senador sa May 10 elections. Ginanap ang presscon kahapon, May 5, sa Annabel's restaurant sa Tomas Morato, Quezon City.

"Nagtitipun-tipon kami ngayon, we are already organizing ourselves in OPM and forming ourselves to be the new OPM. We will have a general assembly on June 15. Tentative pa po 'yan, ha, pero yun ang napag-usapan namin. So, magkakaroon kami ng eleksiyon, ng bagong eleksiyon of the new set of officers. At lahat po ito ay ipinaalam ko siyempre sa current president na si Mitch Valdes at sa lahat ng bumubuo ng OPM ngayon," pahayag ni Ogie.
