Premiere male singer Jed Madela has received a Gold Record Award on "ASAP Rocks" recently for "The Classics Album," his latest CD from Universal Records which has had outstanding sales of 10,000 units and counting.
Present during the awarding is Universal Records’ General Manager Kathleen Dy Go.
“We always receive updates about the status of the album, so in a way, I knew that it will happen soon,” says Jed. “But I never thought it will be awarded that day, so I was caught by surprised.”
Jed, who has been in the business for a decade now, is set to conquer new territories by taking his first step into the Southeast Asian market next month.
“I am so excited,” admits Jed. “It feels like I am starting all over again.”
For his fans in the Philippines, a major concert and a new album are also currently in the works.
Throughout the years, Jed’s track record highlights his being one of the most bankable recording artists of his generation. His debut album "I’ll Be Around" includes the hit "Let Me Love You." His other hit albums were "Songs Rediscovered" (Double Platinum), which included his hit revival of "The Past;" "Only Human" (Platinum); "The Voice of Christmas" (Gold); and "Songs Rediscovered 2" (Platinum).
“I am so blessed by having the best management team, record label, and fans, who continue to support me and my talent all these years,” declares Jed. “I will continue to perform knowing that, with my songs, I can touch other people’s lives.”
Produced by Platinum producer Ito Rapadas, "The Classics Album" boasts of gathering 16 carefully-selected songs earlier popularized by Frank Sinatra, Andy Williams, Tom Jones, Perry Como, Matt Monro, Nat King Cole, Paul Anka, Jack Jones, The Four Tops, Simon & Garfunkel. Jed’s inimitable vocal styling added more luster to the sterling qualities of these well-loved romantic and inspirational ditties.
Some of the tracks in "The Classics Album" are "What I Did For Love," "I Believe," "Portrait Of My Love," "Softly As I Leave You" and "Walk Away."
