"In love yata kami sa isa’t-isa," reveals Parokya ni Edgar frontman Chito Miranda at the presscon for their new album, Middle-Aged Juvenile Pop Rockers.

This is their eighth record already, believe it.
Though there's obviously a bit of humor in that snippet, we can't help but feel he's saying the absolute truth.

The immensely popular outfit who brought us "Buloy," "Picha-pie," "Mister Suwabe," amongst a ton of hits has been at it since 1993.

While many of their contemporaries have broken up, these guys remain strong, owing it to talent, yes, and to humor, but mostly, to a strong friendship forged in childhood.

We're all the better for it because few bands today can brighten up our mood like the clever lyrics in a Parokya song.

And with the band's promise of a "return to basics" and songs containing "kuwentong barkada, kuwentong inuman, kuwentong pag-ibig" in Pop Rockers, it sounds like we're in for a jolly, fun time again.

We chat with Chito, and among other things, he reveals why they went for a old-school approach, and why he thinks the band has stuck for as long as it has...
