Allkpop | New SNSD menu in Chinese restaurant becomes controversial

A Chinese restaurant in Korea recently revealed a new menu using the names of the SNSD girls.

The menu lists nine different combos, all of which are recommended by the head chef. The most expensive meal is the “Yoona Set” which goes for $20 USD, while the cheapest is the “Sunny Set” for $12 USD.

The menu was first uploaded by a netizen on Twitter, and has been spreading rapidly through retweets. Many netizens believe that the menu is offensive and sexually suggestive because of the way it’s worded and presented.

Netizens commented, “I want to eat it once“, “I’d like to eat them all in turn“, “I wonder what their reasoning behind the prices are“, “How can they make a menu out of someone’s name?“, and “SNSD would feel dirty if they saw this.”

Is their marketing stratagem offensive or clever? Let us know what you think!
