Grammy-nominated artist DJ, label owner and global megastar Paul van Dyk needs little introduction. Dominating electronic music charts and appearing at the pinnacle of Top DJ lists the world over, Paul van Dyk is one of the biggest icons in the electronic scene. Now delivering "Volume", this (2CD/31 tracks) best of album celebrates Paul van Dyk’s musical career and also features exclusive new material and some very special remixes.
With sell out tours taking place across the globe, headline spots at every major festival and a hugely successful recording career that has seen over three millions albums sold worldwide, remixing artists such as Depeche Mode, Britney Spears, U2 and Justin Timberlake, Paul’s music in TV commercials for blue-chip brands such as Motorola and globally in films, it is estimated in the course of one year Paul will travel around the globe no less than sixteen times! Constantly evolving and pushing boundaries, earlier this year van Dyk also collaborated with Grammy-winning conductor Paavo Jarvi and the HR Symphony Orchestra and Paul’s own band for a spectacular concert The Planets which combined classical and dance music.
"Volume"encompasses track selections from his massive 15-year catalogue and will include classic cuts from studio albums “45 RPM (1994)”, “Seven Ways (1996)”, “Out There And Back (2000)”, the Grammy-nominated “Reflections (2003)” and “In Between (2007)”. The HUGE van Dyk classic "For An Angel" will feature in a very special 2009 remix alongside 1997 hit "Forbidden Fruit", "Connected" (that was also used on a Motorola ad campaign) plus the massive "We Are Alive" that achieved worldwide chart success.
Renowned for his collaborations, a selection will appear on "Volume" that includes "White Lies" that features Jessica Sutta from the Pussycat Dolls, St. Etienne "Tell Me Why (The Riddle)" and Vega 4 with "Time Of Our Lives".
After being ranked within the top five slots in the world’s leading DJ Magazine Top 100 Poll no less than seven times (hitting #1 DJ in the world spot in 2005 and 2006), "Volume" captures why Paul van Dyk is one of the biggest artists in the electronic scene to date… there is no stopping him!
