Koreaboo | Bloomberg discusses the Korean Pop industry
Bloomberg Television is a 24-hour global network dedicated to providing viewers with business and financial news. It is distributed globally, reaching over 200 million homes worldwide.
The international success of the Korean pop music industry is growing by the day. Bloomberg's weekend program, "Monocle", has chosen this week to feature Seoul, South Korea and its blooming music industry. "Monocle" is a program that highlights particular areas of the globe and discusses a central matter or issue.
Likening the power of Korean pop to music produced in the US, the report raised three main areas of discussion: the Korean pop industry as Korea's real economic power and most potent export, the significance of social media in the success of Korean pop, and the fact that Korean pop is more than just music, and essentially a package of both visual and audio appeal.
Big Bang's GD and TOP were also featured briefly as a top, "two of the most recognizable faces in Asia" and appeared in short interview clips, both sharing their views on the industry. TOP commented, "However you look at it, people seem to be feeling a sense of discovery and mystery about Korea. It seems that they're seeing us in a positive light." In his turn, GD said, "Right now, to know that a lot of fans around the world are listening to music from our tiny country, it's got to have a huge effect on the Korean music scene. But, as the situation changes very rapidly, the scene's got to develop just as fast."
Another familiar face, YG's Executive Director, Kim Jinu, was also featured, explaining the reality of the social media reform. He said, "YouTube right now is the best vehicle for us to reach our core demographic audience which is young people. The world, not just Korea - there are no boundaries or borders anymore. We no longer have to rely on TV stations and radio stations. Social networking has been the vehicle of choice."
Other artists mentioned or showcased throughout the segment included BoA, Girls' Generation, Epik High, Super Junior, 2NE1, and Wonder Girls along their hit single, "Nobody". Various excerpts from music videos were shown, as a reinforcement to the proposition that Korean pop is quintessentially very visually synchronized with musical appeal. It was likened to "the Madonna and Michael Jackson days of super hero performances".

Koreaboo | Take a behind-the-scenes peek at BoA's "Copy & Paste"
Arirang World has released a video of BoA's music video filming site for Copy & Paste and the album cover shoot. The video focuses on BoA's laid back and cute feature while working. Although tired, BoA continues to fool around with her staff with a big smile. BoA explains in an interview with Arirang that Hurricane Venus was a vintage concept with flower prints, while Copy & Paste used the more direct and modern concept.
During the album cover shoot, BoA had minimal makeup in contrast to Hurricane Venus and you can feel the innocent side of her. While taking pictures with a fishbowl and a lone fish, BoA commented, "He must be bored as he's alone. We should have put a few more together."
When asked what Copy & Paste is about, BoA replies that it is "a modern pop song with impressive repercussion loop" and when comparing to Hurricane Venus, "it's a totally different genre and style[/i].
Before the video ends, she leaves a special message to her fans.
"I plan to be active with Copy & Paste, the title song to my repackaged album. I'll do my best with this album and hope it receives as much love and interest as Hurricane Venus It's gotten much colder now. Take care of yourself during the change of seasons. Please love Copy & Paste a lot."
BoA tells her Korean fans that she will be attending the three end-of-the year shows and that they will meet again.
Check out the video below! Please note that this was filmed before her promotions of Copy & Paste but only just released.
Here's the clip:

BoA prepares for Hollywood movie at the end of the year
When BoA made her long-awaited comeback in Korea, it was announced that she had been casted in a Hollywood dance film to be directed by Duane Adler. Adler is known to have worked for popular dance films such as Save the Last Dance and Step Up. It has recently been reported that BoA will be preparing for her upcoming debut movie at the end of the year and will start recording in early 2011.
Because of schedule conflicts with her Hurricane Venus, Copy & Paste, and SMTown concert promotions, she has been unable to prepare right away and has instead been analyzing the scenes with an acting trainer. In addition, BoA has focused on delivering the lines properly, as well as familiarizing herself with the choreography, among other things to be well prepared.
This movie project will be used as part of BoA's U.S. promotions and will be a crucial mark to her U.S. career.
Before officially focusing on her U.S. movie, she will be releasing another single in Japan and will hold another X'mas” LIVE 2010 concert on December 20th and 21st. BoA will also be appearing on three of the major broadcasting award shows held annually at the end of the year.

Allkpop | BoA closes her Twitter because of SHINee fans?
BoA was recently caught up in a controversy with SHINee fans for “spoiling SHINee’s comeback” through her Twitter, causing her to eventually set her Twitter account to private on September 29th.
On the 26th, BoA tweeted, “Inkigayo has come to an end, and Chuseok has come to an end. Next week is our shining SHINee’s comeback! I won’t be lonely in the waiting rooms anymore.”
The problem lies in that SHINee fans were displeased with BoA spoiling the release of SHINee’s repackaged album and comeback date. Various community sites began spreading rumors that SHINee’s comeback date was set earlier than planned due to BoA’s spoiler, causing her to receive many hateful replies from netizens.
On the 28th, BoA attempted to clarify the situation by tweeting, “You know that our company won’t just change SHINee’s comeback date because of my tweet, right? I tweeted it in support of the members, and articles regarding their comeback were released today as well.”
Despite BoA’s clarification, SHINee fans did not stop their attacks, causing BoA to eventually set her account to private.
Netizens expressed their disappointment in the situation by stating, “BoA loves Twitter, did you really have to go as far as to make her close it?” “Are you guys happy now?” and “They’re just supporting each other, why are the fans so angry?”
