MTVK | The Big 3 (SM, JYP and YG) donates 1.5 Million US Dollars to help Japan earthquake victims

Since the devastating earthquake and tsunami in Japan, Korean stars have shown their support through messages for their fans and millions of dollars in donations.

The big 3 entertainment companies in Korea (SM, JYP and YG) have had their artists enjoy immense success in Japan and they’re working to support their fans.

SM Entertainment confirmed today that they delivered 1 billion won (~$882,000) to the Japanese Red Cross. YG Entertainment announced earlier this week that they donated 500 million won ($441,000) of their artist’s total album sales to a relief organization through their charity. JYP Entertainment who houses Wonder Girls, 2PM and 2AM confirmed today that they will be donating 300 million won (~$265,000) to the Red Cross.

All three companies and their artists expressed their sorrow for the Japanese people and hope to give back to the fans who have supported them.

You can help aid the relief effort through charity organizations such as the American Red Cross.
