PEP.ph | Ogie Alcasid and Ryan Cayabyab will topbill their first major concert together this Friday

Two of the Philippines' most respected songwriters play beautiful music together in one special concert. Ogie Alcasid and Maestro Ryan Cayabyab are topbilling their first major concert titled O.C. at the P.I.C.C.

Both have separately written songs and performed with the biggest names in the music industry and have produced music that have changed the landscape of Philippine Pop Culture. Mr. Cayabyab, or Mr. C as he is fondly called, is known for his grand, anthemic themes that celebrate the Filipino spirit. In contrast, Ogie Alcasid made his mark as a songwriter of sentimental, earnest love songs that genuinely reflect the feelings of the common man.

Concert-goers will soon get to hear them jam together and fuse their two styles for this special event produced by Beginnings at Twenty Plus, Inc. and Star Express.

"We're now complete with the lineup of songs," Ogie explained. "Needless to say, we shall be performing Mr. C's songs and some of mine. My all time favorite songs will also make the cut. And I realized that so many of my favorite songs are his favorites too, like the George Canseco classics." Ogie has recently released Ngayon at Kailanman: A Tribute to George Canseco, an album of his personal interpretation of the Master's songs, which has now been certified gold. Recently, Ogie made an important announcement: that he is set to marry Songbird Regine Velasquez this December. Does this influence his choice of songs? "Definitely, but I leave that as a surprise for the concert night," he said teasingly.

O.C. at the P.I.C.C. will be staged this Friday, October 8, 2010 at 8 pm. Guest performers are: Ai Ai De las Alas, Noel Cabangon and the Ryan Cayabyab Singers. Tickets are on sale at all Ticketworld (Tel. No. 891-9999) and Ticketnet outlets (Tel No. 911-5555). For more ticket information, please call 5447906 or 5477904.
