Koreaboo | Big Bang earns 6 million U.S. dollars in six days
Big Bang made an explosive comeback after a long hiatus and the attention they are getting has been soaring to new heights. Big Bang unveiled their “Tonight” mini-album with powerful melodies and a strong sense of dance, on February 24 after a two year and three month absence.
This album was able to top album charts, ranking #1 within minutes of its release. Soon after the title track “Tonight” was released, Mnet, Melon, and many other music sites reported it as the top song on their music charts. The other five tracks from the mini-album including the intro were all hits as well, and continue to rank in the top 10 on music charts.
Thanks to the support of their VIPs, Big Bang’s new album exploded in sales, earning 7,000,000,000 Won ($6,000,000 USD) in just six days. Album downloads were also reported to have explosive hits, and crashed several servers of music download sites.
On February 25-27th, Big Bang held their Big Show 2011 concert in commemoration of their comeback at the Seoul Olympic Park Stadium. All 3 concerts were sold out immediately, along with new fan merchandise. The most expensive ticket was 88,000 won, with 77,000 won being considered a cheap ticket. Big Bang accumulated around 4.2 billion won from the concerts. Big Bang also receives a large amount of their income from their contracts with FILA, Cyon, Lotte Duty, CJ, and more.
