Zenbeatsblog | Kaskade's Dynasty overtakes Justin Bieber, lets fans remix new single

It’s somewhat old news but, last week, Kaskade’s new album, Dynasty, overtook Justin Bieber’s debut, My World 2.0, on the iTunes charts. Entering at fifth place, Dynasty pushed My World 2.0 out of the top ten spots. Although Dynasty has since slipped down to 59th place – the iTunes charts are far more capricious than the Billboard ranks – Dynastywas an indication that dance music is starting to have a larger presence. Be it through Lady Gaga’s influence or simply more fans, Kaskade knocking off Justin Bieber from the top of the charts shows that electronic dance music is becoming more visible.

Although Dynasty has been available for a few weeks as a digital download, the album was released in physical form last week. Accompanying the May 11 release date was an opportunity for fans to create a remix of first single “Dynasty.” Although the specific rules for the competition, sponsored by Beatport, are outlined in more detail above, any aspiring producer can download parts of the song through Beatport, remix them, and upload the remix to Beatport for the competition. Users and editors will vote on their top remixes and, from this pool, Kaskade and Ultra Records will pick their favorite, which will be released by Ultra. May 31 is the deadline for your remix, so, if you’re interested, download the track now and upload it before the month is over.
