Brooklyn-based trio Au Revoir Simone are a 'girl group' with a difference. With an unparalleled love of analogue synthesizers, vintage drum machines and succinctly tailored harmonies, the three-piece have become something of a cult phenomenon on both sides of the Atlantic. They've described their music quite accurately as 'dreamy electronic lo-fi keyboard pop'. In some ways it's similar to the blissful drone of Stereolab, but they have some of the Postal Service's knack for understated electronic hooks. Their third album "Still Night Still Light" is a warm, circuitous current of energy that is gorgeously incandescent and instantly familiar. By the way, cult director David Lynch is a huge fan!
