GRAMMY WINNING MUSIC ICON CHAKA KHAN RELEASES JAZZ STANDARDS & POP CLASSICS CD "CLASSIKHAN"

Legendary, 8-time Grammy winning music icon Chaka Khan releases her excellent album of jazz standards and traditional pop classics, “Classikhan”, which she recorded with the renowned London Symphony Orchestra. Chaka’s song choices for “Classikhan” ran the musical gamut: “Hey Big Spender”, “I’m In The Mood For Love”, Patsy Cline’s “Crazy” “The Best Is Yet To Come”, Peggy Lee’s “Is That All There Is?”, James Bond’s themes "Diamonds Are Forever" and "Goldfinger" and Lulu’s “To Sir With Love”. There is also a new ballad, “I Believe”, a Khan-penned original. The album features guest appearances by pianist Joe Sample and percussionist Sheila E. “Classikhan” can be seen as a follow-up to the “Echoes of an Era” album Chaka Khan made with her all-star cast of jazz musicians in 1982. With an outstanding career now spanning 30 years, including eight Grammy Awards, 18 Grammy nominations, three platinum and seven gold albums, Chaka Khan’s stellar project like “Classikhan” will undoubtedly garner additional awards and hits.
